Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, the tour manager from Cairo Top Tours will be there to guide you through the process of passport control, identifying your luggage, and carrying it for you.

You will start your Cairo day tours either from the airport or we can leave the luggage at the hotel before heading out on a tour to Giza Pyramids and the impressive Sphinx.

During your tour, the guide will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the pyramids, including their construction in ancient times as believed by scientists, and will also be available to address any inquiries you may have concerning the prominent Pharaohs of ancient Egypt such as Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus.

You will also be transferred to visit the Pyramids of Saqqara.

You can begin your sightseeing at the famous Step Pyramid of King Djoser, which was created by the brilliant architect Imhotep. Imhotep revolutionized the method of building pyramids. The Step Pyramid had a purpose beyond being a tomb; it was believed to help facilitate life after death and rebirth.

After enjoying your delicious lunch during the tour, you will proceed to visit the Dahshur Pyramids.

During your tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Bent Pyramid, which has well-preserved outer casing material and provides a serene archeological site to capture amazing photographs. Additionally, your guide will take you inside the Red Pyramid of King Senefru, who is the father of King Cheops, the builder of the famous Great Pyramid in Giza. Dahshur area is known for its royal necropolis and several Pyramids built for King Senefru, who is also the father of King Cheops.

Memphis is the final site to visit today.

The location where the King of ancient Egypt lived and where political and administrative activities took place for a millennium was also a significant hub for culture and worship for three millennia after the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt. During your visit, you'll be able to view one of two massive statues of Ramses II, while the other will be showcased at the new grand Egyptian museum alongside the magnificent Alabaster Sphinx. King Menes founded this city after merging Upper and Lower Egypt in 3100 B.C.

Your personal driver and tour guide will accompany you to your hotel and assist you with the check-in process in the late afternoon, after the tour has concluded.

Spend your first night in Cairo.

Meals included for you: Lunch

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will be met by our licensed guide and personal driver to begin your Egypt Travel Packages. Your tour will start from Cairo and take you to Alexandria, which was established in 332 B.C by the famous leader Alexander the Great He was a great king of the ancient Greek Kingdom and established one of the largest empires in the ancient world. Alexandria served as the Capital city of Egypt for almost 1000 years until the Arab conquest in the 7th century, and it remained the second biggest and most important city after Cairo.

Once you arrive, we'll begin our day tour in Alexandria with a visit to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. This was originally a private tomb for a wealthy family that was later expanded to accommodate the common people of Alexandria. Afterward, we'll take a short drive to see Pompey's pillar, the tallest standing pillar in Egypt. The people of Alexandria built it as a token of thanks to Roman Emperor Diocletian who had diverted some of Egypt's annual tribute of corn and grain to help the citizens.

You will then be taken to the seaside to admire the Mediterranean sea views until you arrive at the Citadel of Qaitbay, built in 1477 A.D. on the site where the famous Pharos lighthouse once stood.

Indulge in a luxurious seafood lunch at a high-end restaurant in Alexandria before heading to the Modern Bibliotheca of Alexandria, which comprises three buildings - the reading area, conference center, and planetarium. On the route, you'll have the opportunity to explore the city's main squares, local markets, and landmarks such as the 'unknown soldiers' memorial and contemporary statues of politicians. Your personal tour guide and chauffeur will accompany you back to Cairo, with a pit stop midway for a coffee or tea break.

Spend another night at the hotel in Cairo.

Meals included for you: Breakfast and lunch

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your Cairo hotel, your accredited Egyptologist guide will accompany you to the Egyptian Museum where you can explore the intricate details of the world's most extensive collection of Egyptian antiquities. You will also have the opportunity to view the golden mask and coffins of King Tutankhamen.

After spending approximately two hours at the Egyptian museum, we will embark on our intriguing Islamic Cairo trips by first visiting the Citadel of Saladin. This citadel includes the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, which was constructed in the 12th century by Mamluk rulers to safeguard Egypt from the crusaders. Later, King Mohammed Ali of the Ottoman Empire built his renowned mosque inside the fortress in 1830.

As part of our Egypt Classic Tours, we will pause and take you to enjoy a nice lunch before embarking on a journey through Coptic Cairo. After lunch, we will continue our excursion by exploring the remains of an ancient Roman fortress called Babylon, which dates back to the 1st century. Above it, there is an extraordinary church suspended on towers that are locally referred to as the Hanging Church. We will then stroll through narrow alleys that will make you feel like you're walking through the old streets of Jerusalem until we reach the church of St Sergius. This church was blessed by the presence of the Holy family when they fled to Egypt and stayed in Old Cairo for almost three months. Our Coptic Cairo tour will conclude with a visit to the old Jewish area of Cairo to see the Ben Ezra Synagogue, which was once a Christian church before being sold to a Jewish man.

We will visit Islamic Cairo and take a stroll down El Moez Ledin Ellah street, the oldest street in Fatimid Cairo, which is renowned for its collection of Islamic art and architecture. Along the way, we will stop at the old Market and see the Al Azhar mosque before taking a break at El Fishawy, the oldest cafe in Khan El Khalili, where you can enjoy a Turkish coffee or a special mango juice.
